About WIN²

WIN² is a practical web-based process for evaluating the market potential of business ideas, devices,
products, services and technologies. It focuses largely on commercial feasibility.
A supremely flexible tool, it offers the following possibilities:

*For the would-be entrepreneur, student, mentor or existing business, the ability to
undertake a self-assessment of a business idea.

*For research offices and public research organisations, a convenient evaluation tool.

*For investors, the opportunity to develop a common currency of evaluation.

Developed in the Institute for Enterprise and Innovation (UNIEI), part of Nottingham University Business School,

WIN² is built on a tried and tested process that has been widely trialled throughout its development.

How it Works

The Assessment process works in 5 stages:

  • Stage 1 Register
  • Stage 2 Preparation – describe the idea and the work carried out to date on the evaluation of the project, in terms of research into the market, legal requirements, health and safety, etc
  • Stage 3 Receive your Password by email. Log into WIN² Assessment.
  • Stage 4 Assessment and Evaluation: Follow the help and guidance to assess the project against a number of fixed criteria. Input your thoughts on each criterion as you proceed. You can revisit any one at any time before your final acceptance and change your response. The results from the assessment are then converted into a summary recommendation.
  • Stage 5 The Report, containing the assessment and the evaluation, together with your own thoughts, comments and indicators of strengths and weaknesses, can be downloaded as a .pdf document.

The Assessment in Progress can be saved at any stage and recommenced later

The process is particularly valuable when used in conjunction with
